Mike Wakshull will introduce you to the neuroscience of unconscious, implicit bias and how this cognitive bias leads to errors during trial. The course will focus on attorney & judge decision-making and implicit bias in forensic sciences and expert witnesses. Mike will conclude by providing potential solutions for attorneys to overcome these hidden biases.
California attorneys can take all 25 CA MCLEs online with on-demand CLE – including the 12.5 required hours of participatory credit. The 25 CA CLE hours must include 4 hours of legal ethics, 1 hour of competence issues (substance abuse), and 1 hour of elimination of bias.
If you’re a California attorney don’t forget to complete at least 4 hours of Legal Ethics, 1 hour of Competence Issues and 1 hour of Elimination of Bias. These are the required “specialty” credits included in the 25 hour CA CLE requirement.
