March 2024 North Carolina CLE Requirements – New Rules
In March 2024 North Carolina transitioned to a new set of CLE rules. These new rules apply to all active North Carolina attorneys. The new North Carolina CLE requirements are a two-year reporting cycle that requires a minimum of 24 hours of North Carolina CLE credit hours. Of the 24 hours, at least 4 hours must be in professional responsibility or professionalism or any combination thereof. Also, at least 1 hour of technology and 1 hour of professional well-being (PWB) are also required in each compliance cycle. The North Carolina CLE compliance cycle is March 1 – last day of February.
There is no grace period for your CLE. To avoid late fees, all attorneys must complete their North Carolina CLE by the end of February. All active members are now required to pay a $25 annual attendance fee due at the time of membership renewal.
