Georgia attorneys are required to complete 12 CLE hours including 1 ethics hour, 1 professionalism hour and if you are a trial attorney, 3 trial hours each year. Georgia attorneys’ 2023 CLE requirement should have been completed by December 31, 2023. There is a $100.00 late fee if you don’t report your 2023 CLE requirement before March 31, 2014. Even though your deadline was technically in 2023 many Georgia attorneys don’t complete and report their CLE until March.
The State Bar of Georgia would have sent your annual report to you in January or February of this year. If you are compliant with your CLE requirements there is no further action required. However, if you still need CLE hours, you must complete and report them before the March 31 deadline.
If you miss your March 31 deadline, you can pay the $100 late fee and get an extension until September 30. After September 30 an additional $150 fee will be due for your late compliance. If you want to check your CLE record, you can do so by logging in here.
