Louisiana attorneys are required to finish 12.5 LA MCLE hours annually to complete the mandatory Louisiana CLE requirement. Louisiana attorneys must also complete at least 1 hour of legal ethics and 1 hour of professionalism each LA CLE compliance period.
Undue LA MCLE Hardship
If you are experiencing undue hardship, you should contact the Louisiana MCLE Office about your situation. An attorney with serious medical or other issues may qualify for a waiver or some degree of relevant assistance to help reach the compliance requirement for the year.
Louisiana attorneys must complete the LA MCLE requirement by December 31 and report MCLE compliance by January 31. The LA MCLE Rules allow Louisiana attorneys to complete up to 4 hours of online and downloadable CLE courses each reporting period.
